Located in Research Triangle Park, NC, UNC-TV seeks a diverse, team-driven grants officer, who will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of UNC-TV’s grant portfolio. This position will function very independently on a day-to-day basis working with all appropriate departments to develop the project, research, write and submit grant proposals/applications. The successful candidate will be a strong self-starter, deadline-driven, excellent writer, familiar with budgets, and a strong communicator who can collaborate with all levels of internal and external partners. |Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit||
The UNC Center for Public Television functions to provide research, development, and production of noncommercial educational content and program materials and to provide distribution of noncommercial television programming through the broadcast facilities licensed to the University of North Carolina; otherwise to enhance the uses of television for public purposes.
|SPA Minimum Qualifications||
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, management or a field related, at least five years’ experience in pre- and/or post-award grants administration, and fiscal/budgetary management and oversight. Experience with/understanding of applicable state and federal laws and policies, and public media and/or community engagement experience is a plus.
Ability to assess the grant-making landscape in relation to UNC-TV’s programming, community and educational engagement, and production needs as well as its overall strategic goals. Must maintain knowledge of online grant research databases and applicable federal and state laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Ability to administer multiple grants simultaneously in varying stages of completion, multiple levels of complexity and a diverse group of staff and partners.
Ability to work effectively with interdepartmental teams, to coordinate and monitor participants’ tasks, and to advance collaborations between individual and group stakeholders.
Ability to proactively identify, research and evaluate grant opportunities, and their likelihood of success, and then to prioritize those opportunities for senior staff.
Ability to collect, synthesize and analyze data as needed for each grant proposal.
Ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively to a wide range of people – externally focused, such as foundation program officers and potential grant partners; and internally focused, such as UNC-TV producers, community and educational engagement coordinators, and finance staff.
Ability to lead and manage the grant writing and implementation process for all organizational proposals.
